MANAGING DIRECTOR

Roger Byrne

" I firmly believe, if we can work together, we can continue to train and employ the right people, and produce quality workmanship. I have had the best experience anyone could possibly have had, within my field, and I would like to thank all the people, (in all positions and companies) that have worked with me in the past. I'm sure we shall work together again, and I aim at putting Quality Brickwork back amongst the most inspirational disciplines on site"

Roger Byrne was born in Highgate (North London) in 1960. He went to school in Harlesden, NW London, and was trained by John Laing as a full apprentice Bricklayer (3 years) 1977-1980, attending Willesden College whilst working for Laing`s on prestigious London sites such as The Barbican.

Roger was an award winning apprentice, and excelled at college, with distinctions in both the craft level City & Guilds, and the Advanced level City & Guilds in Brickwork.

After the successful completion of his apprenticeship, he left Laing`s in the search for more varied experience within the Brickwork Industry, and at the age of 20 carried out his first contract as a Foreman Bricklayer for a large Brickwork sub-contractor.

He then went on to become one of the most prominent Foremen/Project Manager`s in the UK. Building many of the largest and most prestigious Brick/Stone/Blockwork packages over the following 15 years.

He spent nearly all of his thirties as a Contracts Manager and a Regional Manager. Now in his Forties, he has decided that he has enough experience to run his own company, in the specialist field of Brickwork.

Outside of work, Roger was an accomplished junior and senior amateur boxer, winning many titles in his boxing career, he was rated No3 in the UK in 1978 at the age of 17 yrs old, and once lost narrowly on points to Lloyd Honeyghan, (who went on to become the undisputed Welterweight World champion in 1986). After retiring from the ring, he became a fully qualified ABA boxing coach, training many aspiring young boxers to the highest level.

He also played Rugby for Ruislip Rugby Club, Middlesex as a Hooker.

"From my involvement in tendering for Design & Build projects, I feel it is vital the Sub-contractor is involved at an early stage and working with the Main Contractor, can supply a realistic quotation based on the particular requirements of the project. Assisting with any detailing, and brickwork technical problems that may occur."
